NETTING THE WORK is a platform aiming to explore the links between performance, the everyday and the human flows under the prism of transition and displacement. It is a project that focuses on challenging social and artistic topics by exploring their connotations in different countries, platforms and Performance Festivals around Europe. Considering that performance has become a central lens for understanding a multiplicity of cultural phenomena, the platform attempts to critically observe diverse contemporary circumstances through artistic representations, as well as regulating dominant and hierarchical cultural schemes in different spaces and social realities. Through the practice of displacement, Netting the Work initiates connections and discourses in the field of Performance art, seeking to capture a crucial turning point: That of the constant movement in a constantly ever-changing society .

The guesthouse was named neion after the mountain Neion that is mentioned in Odyssey, which, according to the German archaeologist W. Doerpfeld who supported that Lefkada is Homer’s Ithaca, is the mountain Skaroi, which is located opposite to the guesthouse. Neion is an alternative destination. Here, the intense and rapid rhythms of the everyday in the urban environments and in the crammed touristic regions are replaced by the rhythms of nature. Surrounded by hills with dense vegetation and small-scale vineyards and the mountain of Skaroi with the old forest of the ancient oak trees, protected from the noise and surrendered in the laws of nature, it addresses to the restless, active, spiritual traveller – explorer and calls him to participate to several activities and practices of contemporary art.
JOEY RAMONE was launched on February 2012 by Dutch gallerist Hans Bakker & Greek artist Kiki Petratou. The gallery, which we like to call a 'Half-Artist Run Gallery’, is committed to developing an ambitious and vibrant multidisciplinary and cross-generational program. Right from the start it has been presenting a group of international artists who use a diverse range of media to explore contemporary socio-political, cultural and technological themes. Next to the regular gallery program, which presents six solo exhibitions a year, the gallery has been running an irregular side program, which includes curated group shows, artist talks, lectures, film screenings, performances and project collaboration. JOEY RAMONE has been co-operating with festivals such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Poetry International and Motel Mozaique and non-profit spaces such as Roodkapje and WORM. The objective is to provide a platform for contemporary art and discourse, by combining the attributes of both a conventional gallery (facilitating the long-term development of the artists’ careers) and the more content and context-based approach of a non-profit initiative.
With a brand new project space located exactly next to the gallery JOEY RAMONE will pursue the adventure further in a regular basis!
Snehta promotes and facilitates local and international artists through its residency and exhibitions programmes in Kypseli, Athens. Residents are selected through an open call for artists, designers, architects, curators and art historians who then spend two months researching in Athens. Snehta also organizes a series of exhibitions, talks and workshops in response to topics that critically engage with Athens’ unique identity as a historical and social center.
Snehta stands for the name of the City of Athens written in reverse. This name metaphorically suggests that the artists involved are to rediscover Athens by reading and translating it alternatively, observing and using the City’s local, social and cultural dynamics.
